Same Ol’ Corn Flakes

Pretty self explanatory but so true.

I agree that most of our politicians, or any for that matter, are similar in their obsession to make promises they can’t keep, their propensity for corruption and self-enrichment, and their preservation of the status quo. But Obama is different.

The word Obama is becoming larger than the person of Obama. He is a man who is perfect for the historical moment in which we are living. His speeches are not only about the specific policy promises (many of which he might not be able to keep), but they are about creating a different kind of atmosphere in every living room, workplace, and political office across the country. He is the first African-American candidate who does not play the race card in trying to win the country, despite his consistently liberal voting record and ideology he offers hope of uniting rather than dividing, and he is the only one who translates his complex vision of the world and the American experience into the language that moves masses. There has been only one other person who has been able to do all these things in the 20th century: Martin Luther King.

Indeed, Obama is the King of the moment in which we live in since he bridges the generational divide that has kept many African American politicians from achieving lasting success in the political arena. Obama’s multiracial, multicultural background endows him with a profoundly perceptive view of the world, which more than compensates for what his rivals call “lack of experience.” His ideology of communitarianism leaves his Republican rivals gasping for air rather than sharpening their knives for future battles (which is what Hillary does).

Obama is the Martin Luther King of our time.

I agree that Obama is different, and will certainly give him my support, but I don’t think he is Martin Luther King of our time. Martin Luther King did play racial card and I think he was overrated anyway.
Obama is way more charismatic, and I should say approachable by multi racial entities. Martin speeches were great but when I see Obama speaking vs Martin speaking, it is no brainier. Obama wins every time and twice on Sunday.
