I agree partially, but that was not my point. My point was that peaceful religious followers don't follow what their book is saying. They follow what THEY think their book is saying and not what it actually says(see above) Fundamental extremist are. Extremists are the ones that actually follow it to the word as the word of God. Muslims more then Christians. That is why you see more brutality in Islam these days then in Christianity. It is only because Muslims are following their Koran to the word while Christians and Catholics are making shit up as they see fit.
For example: Leviticus 20:13 says all gays should be put to death. Extremist are actually for it, while peaceful Christians are against it. So extremist are only following what their book is saying. In my opinion they're both very wrong and immoral.
If majority of Christians actually followed Bible we would be executing gays on the streets, putting to death kids that disobey their parents and stoning people collecting sticks on sabbath. If people cannot see through that bullshit, I am sorry but I will have to agree with Richard Dawkings that they're all are delusional.

Religious books (Koran and Bible) are not only wrong, brutal and errant but they're waste of time to even read. I read both Koran and Bible (twice) and I am glad that I did to see whats all the fuss about, but the second time I read it I realized that I am really wasting my time here. It is a fairy tale too brutal to be told to your kids.

Just because there are violent parts to Religion, does not mean that there are not good parts.

Religion was probably our first form of government, without it, we wouldn't have the civilizations that we do today...

Ok I appologize for the Harshness - I also appreciate you pointing out the confusion -

So back to the point at hand....

You are correct -
There are single lines, or versus in the new testimant that display brutality. Words freely spoken from of Jesus with clearly brutal requests, descriptions, and even requests.

I will not argue that point - Ill simply ask you to explain the point you are makeing.

This is very typical of a average religious person who does not want to accept what bible says, but wants to accept ONLY what HE thinks that bible says.
I admit that i didn't include the whole verse (those were not the chapters but verses) number so it is confusing but i was just copy pasting it from my note pad, but nonetheless lets get the record straight.

I took these from biblegateway.com where you can look up verses in 50 different languages. I checked International version, American version and King James Bible version, and they all say same thing. For example:
King James version says "slay them before me" while international says "kill them before me"

Remember this quote for the future
"“No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says: He is always convinced that it says what HE means”
George Bernard Shaw

Luke 19:27
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2019:27;&version=49;

Luke 14:26
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2014:26;&version=9;

Matthew 5;29
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%205:29;&version=31;

Matthew 15:4

I was currious - when you quoted the new testemant - What resource did you use -
I am asking this question because I have yet to find any version that includes these Brutal Chapters -
If you would like to critisize the Bible - or anything else I would expect that you would atleast confirm your sources. You speciffically quote Luke:25, and Luke:26 -
The Book of Like ends with Chapter 24 -
